| Architect Members are those who
are legal residents of and have an architectural license by any
state, the District of Columbia, or any U.S. Territory.
Associate Members are either
those persons without architectural licenses who are employed
under the supervision of a licensed architect in a professional
or technical capacity directly related to the practice of architecture,
or those eligible by experience who are employed in circumstances
recognized by licensing authorities as constituting credit toward
architectural registration.
Emeritus Members are those members
who have maintained membership for 15 years and has reached the
age of 70, or has reached the age of 60 and is retired, or is
incapacitated so as to be unable to work in the profession. Members
must apply for emeritus status. All rights and privileges associated
with AIA Membership remain unchanged, except that Members Emeritus
are no longer required to pay either individual or supplemental
dues. Those wishing to continue to receive all official mailings
and publications may be charged nominal annual dues.
The single source dues invoices for all three levels (National, State, and Local)
dues will be mailed by AIA in December. AIA dues are payable on or before January 15.
Members who have not paid AIA dues by February 28 shall be in default and shall be so
notified. Members still in default as of March 31 shall be terminated retroactive to
January 1 of that year. |
