Nominations are open for Officer and Director Positions within the AIA Eastern New York Executive Committee and Board of Directors. We invite you to consider becoming an integral part of our leadership team.

Time Commitment

•  Board of Directors: Only four evenings a year – a small commitment for significant impact

• Executive Committee: Six to eight evenings annually – a meaningful investment in leadership growth

• President-Elect (1-year term plus succession to President)

• Treasurer (1-year term)

• Secretary (1-year term)

• Vice President of Programs (1-year term)

• Director (2-year term; 2027-2028)

What Does an Officer or Board Member Do?

President – Elect (1-year term plus succession to President)

The President-Elect teams with the sitting President and works closely with the Executive Committee to ensure the goals of the Chapter are met annually. The President-Elect also acts as the President in their absence.

Secretary (1-year term)

The Secretary shall work with the Executive Director to record and distribute the minutes of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee. The Secretary is also responsible for ensuring that the bylaws and operations of the Chapter are in adherence to the Charter and guidelines of the American Institute of Architects.

Treasurer (1-year term)

The Treasurer works closely with the Director of Finance to ensure that the financial affairs of the Chapter are in compliance with the approved budget. 

Vice President for Programs (1-year term)

The Vice President for Programs works closely with staff and volunteers to prepare and recommend educational offerings and events at the Chapter.

Director (3-year term)

Members serving as Directors on Board provide direction and guidance in the operation of the Eastern NY Chapter.
